Through the canvassing process, which is in place to ensure the accuracy of election results, it was verified that out of the 48,141 eligible registered voters who could have cast a ballot in this election, 5,852 or 12.16 percent voted.

A runoff election was held on April 13, 2010, for the municipal judge seat. This runoff election was necessary as no candidate received more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in this contest.
