Program Offerings 

The City of Rio Rancho is taking precautionary measures to lessen the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, this year's annual Winterfest event will not take place.

The majority of our classes, programming, special events and services are postponed under the current State of New Mexico health order. Stay tuned for spring, 2021 offerings. See below for available classes:

  • Online Tutoring - For questions about this program call Rachel at (505) 891-3938. To register for Online Tutoring visit our Active Net online registration site.
  • Lap Swimming or Water Walking - Reserve a pool lane at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center by calling (505) 891-5230. Twenty lanes (eleven for lap swim and nine for water walking) will be available to reserve in one hour increments. Reservations are taken from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • Yoga with Mary - Will take place on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Sabana Grande Community Center. The class ratio is 4:1. The fee to participate is $5 per class, per participant. Tivity, Prime and SilverSneakers are all accepted. Call Mary at (505) 219-5684 for more information or to register for this program.

Facility, Park and Playground Closures


The City of Rio Rancho is taking preventive measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Until further notice, the following facilities and parks through the Parks, Recreation and Community Services department are closed to the public. 

  • All ballfields including; Sports Complex North and High Resort Sports Complex 
  • Cabezon Community Center, 2307 Cabezon Boulevard 
  • Haynes Community Center, 2006 Grande Boulevard  
  • Star Heights Recreation Center, 800 Polaris Boulevard 
  • Public restrooms are closed at parks throughout Rio Rancho (Haynes, Rainbow, Rio Vista and High Resort Park).
