Background History

Total cost of project, approximately $10.25 million

In March of 2006, voters in Rio Rancho overwhelmingly approved a $7 million general obligation bond to design and construct a center adjacent to the new Loma Colorado Main Library and across the street from Pulte Homes’ Loma Colorado master planned community

In addition to the general obligation bond, in an act of unprecedented public and private partnership with the City of Rio Rancho, Pulte Homes donated the remaining $3 million needed to fund this project (this follows a $100,000 contribution made by Pulte Homes to the Loma Colorado Main Library) In June of 2006, contract for the architectural services and design for the Aquatic Center was awarded to Dekker/Perich/Sabatini
