Yes, and it's ok to use my first name.
Yes, but don't put my name on it.
No, I just wanted to help out the Teen Librarian.
We feature book reviews in our newsletter, on Facebook, and on Twitter. We will never put your full name online and we will never share your reviews without your permission.
Please ensure that the book you are reviewing meets the following requirements:
The library owns a physical copy of this book at one or both branches.
The book is in the teen section.
The book was published in the last 5 years.
Does the library own a copy of this book?
Check the Library Catalog
To check if we have a book at the library, open our online catalog at the link above and type in the title of the book. Use the Keyword search on the left drop down menu, and select Teen Materials on the right instead of View Entire Collection. It's ok if the item is currently checked out.
What genre is the book?
Rate this book on a scale of 1 to 10.
1 = terrible, 10 = awesome
Is the book part of a series?
Please use the following spaces to tell us about the book you read. You don't have to fill in every section, but the more you do, the better. We want your honest opinion about the book, so you will earn volunteer credit whether you give the book a positive or negative review.
Describe this book in a sentence or two.
Ex: The Fault in Our Stars is a tragic, romantic story about two teens with cancer who fall in love. You have been warned: this book will make you cry.
Write a paragraph or two summarizing the book. No spoilers!
Who are the main characters? Where or when does the story take place? What is the main conflict in the story? Rather than explaining the plot from start to finish, think about how you would describe the book to a friend.
What did you like about this book?
Was there anything you didn't like about this book?
Who do you think would enjoy this book?
What else do you want people to know about this book?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! If you have any questions about book reviews, or if you want to learn more about volunteering for the library, contact the Teen Librarian at (505) 891-5013 x3042 or at email@example.com.
